Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Tuesday's closing session

The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Tuesday 5 March 2024 with increase in the market cap by 1.1% to record EGP 453.863 bn compared to EGP 448.719 bn at yesterday's session.

The market cap of the banking sector reached 22.54% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange

The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to EGP 1.413 bn which represents 16.77% of the total trading volume today after 20.049 million shares were exchanged capturing 2.1% of the total trading volume.

The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with increase and turnover amounted EGP 10 mn on shares.

The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” rose by 0.41% and 31.159 points, “EGX70” index for medium stocks increased by 0.14% to record 7.564 points, and the broader index “EGX100” increased by 0.09% to record 10.685 points.
