Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Tuesday's closing session

The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Tuesday 23 April 2024 with decrease in the market cap by 4.3% to record EGP 433.449 bn compared to EGP 453.126 bn at yesterday's session.

The market cap of the banking sector reached 24.80% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange

The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to EGP 609.388 mn which represents 16.52% of the total trading volume today after 10.262 million shares were exchanged capturing 1.21% of the total trading volume.

The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with decrease and turnover amounted EGP 178.9 mn on shares.

The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” fell by 4.86%, to record 28.166 points EGX70 decreased by 5.06% to record 6.545 points, and the broader index “EGX100” declined by 5.03% to record 9.285 points.
