Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Wednesday's closing session

The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Wednesday 8 May 2024 with decrease in the market cap by 3.3% to record EGP 416.593 bn compared to EGP 430.087 bn at Yesterday's session.

The market cap of the banking sector reached 24.70% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange

The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to EGP 447.130 mn which represents 10.30% of the total trading volume today after 6.922 million shares were exchanged capturing 0.96% of the total trading volume.

The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with decrease and turnover amounted EGP 178.9 mn on shares.

The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” fell by 1.67%, to record 26.939 points EGX70 decreased by 1.86% to record 5.879 points, and the broader index “EGX100” declined by 1.82% to record 8.456 points.
