Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Wednesday's closing session

The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Wednesday 20 March 2024 with Increase in the market cap by 1.2% to record EGP 471.847 bn compared to EGP 466.269 bn at yesterday 's session.

The market cap of the banking sector reached 26.02% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange

The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to EGP 317.148 mn which represents 10.08% of the total trading volume today after 4.705 million shares were exchanged capturing 0.72% of the total trading volume.

The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with decrease EGX30 only and turnover amounted EGP 85.5 mn on shares.

The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” Fell by 0.30% and 29.229 points, “EGX70” index for medium stocks increased by 2.94% to record 6.369 points, and the broader index “EGX100” rose by 1.90% to record 9.200 points.
