The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Wednesday 13 March 2024 with decrease in the market cap by 5.9% to record EGP 499.938 bn compared to EGP 526.760 bn at yesterday's session.

The market cap of the banking sector reached 25.24% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange

The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to EGP 664.456 bn which represents 12.11% of the total trading volume today after 9.063 million shares were exchanged capturing 1.32% of the total trading volume.

The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with decrease and turnover amounted EGP 10 mn on shares.

The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” Fell by 5.04% and 32.757 points, “EGX70” index for medium stocks decreased by 3.40% to record 7.020 points, and the broader index “EGX100” decreased by 3.75% to record 10.129 points.
