Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Wednesday's closing session

The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Wednesday 21 February 2024 with decrease in the market cap by 0.73% to record EGP 477.282 bn compared to EGP 480.777 bn at yesterday's session.
The market cap of the banking sector reached 23.833% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange
The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to EGP 315.833 mn which represents 5.79% of the total trading volume today after 4.891 million shares were exchanged capturing 0.34% of the total trading volume.
The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with decrease EGX30 only and turnover amounted EGP 132.7 mn on shares.
The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” Fell by 0.13% and 29.496 points, “EGX70” index for medium stocks increased by 1.15% to record 7.821 points, and the broader index “EGX100” increased by 0.85 % to record 10.816 points.
