Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Tuesday's closing session

The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Tuesday 29 October 2024 with decrease in the market cap by 1.2% to record EGP 452.726bn compared to EGP 458.444bn at yesterday's session.
The market cap of the banking sector reached 21.37% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange.
The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to 312.459mn which represents 7.39% of the total trading volume today after 6.434 million shares were exchanged capturing 0.59% of the total trading volume.
The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with increase EGX70 alone and turnover amounted EGP 151.7mn on shares.
The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” fell by 0.50% to reach 30.856 points EGX70 increase by 0.08% to record 8.011 points, and the broader index “EGX100” fell by 0.14% to record 11.226 points.
