Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Tuesday's closing session

The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Tuesday 20 August 2024 with an increase in the market cap by 1.9% to record EGP 463.235bn compared to EGP 454.717bn at yesterday's session.

The market cap of the banking sector reached 23.48% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange.

The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to EGP 371.729mn which represents 8.63% of the total trading volume today after 6.405million shares were exchanged capturing 0.63% of the total trading volume.

The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with increase and turnover amounted EGP 151.7mn on shares.T he main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” rose by 2.03%, to record 29.915 points EGX70 increased by 0.95% to record 6.835 points, and the broader index “EGX100” rose by 1.13% to record 9.803 points.
