EGP index fell sharply against a basket of major currencies to 66.202 points on Thursday
The Egyptian pound index declined against the major currencies during Thursday 5, January 2023 trading. The index reached 66.202 points, compared to 68.726 points at the end of Wednesday’s trading.
The Egyptian pound index declines against a basket of seven major currencies that measures the performance of the pound. It fell against the Pound Sterling, the Japanese Yen, and the Chinese yuan, the Euro, US dollar, the UAE dirham and Saudi Riyals.
The average rate of the US dollar in Egypt rose from EGP26.47 to EGP27.16 for buying and from EGP 26.38 to EGP 27.07 at the end of the day's transactions.
The average selling price of the pound sterling in Egypt increased from EGP31.86 pounds to EGP 32.68 at the end of the day's trading, while the average buying price increased from EGP 31.74 to EGP 32.57.
The average selling price of the euro in Egypt rose from 28.06 pounds to 28.83 pounds in today's trading, while the average buying price rose from 27.96 pounds to 28.72 pounds.
The average selling price of the Japanese yen in Egypt rose from 20.22 pounds to 20.51 pounds at the end of the day's trading, while the buying price rose from 20.15 pounds to 20.44 pounds.
The average selling price of the Chinese yuan in Egypt increased from 3.84 pounds to 3.95 pounds, while the purchase price increased from 3.83 pounds to 3.93 pounds.
The average selling price of the Saudi riyal in Egypt rose from 7.04 pounds to 7.23 pounds, while the average buying price rose from 7.01 pounds to 7.20 pounds.
The average selling price of the UAE dirham in Egypt increased from 7.21 pounds to 7.39 pounds, while the buying price increased from 7.18 pounds to 7.37 pounds.
