ABK - Egypt, ADCB, and Bank NXT top the fastest growing banks in syndicated loans during Q1-2025

First Bank’s list of the fastest growing banks in syndicated loans during the first quarter of 2025 revealed that Al Ahli Bank of Kuwait – Egypt «ABK–Egypt» topped the list, thanks to an increase in its portfolio of syndicated loans by about 74.8% during the first quarter of this year, reaching 5.85 billion pounds by the end of March 2025, compared to 3.35 billion pounds by the end of 2024.
The «First Bank» list monitored the size of the syndicated loan portfolios of 23 banks operating in the Egyptian banking sector, for which financial data was available during the period under analysis, and revealed that all banks under analysis achieved positive growth rates in the size of their portfolios, with the exception of 8 banks that recorded a noticeable decline during the first quarter.From 2025.
Returning to the list, Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank – Egypt «ADCB» seized second place, as its portfolio jumped by about 52.6% during the first 3 months of this year, reaching 9.77 billion pounds by the end of March 2025, compared to 6.40 billion pounds by the end of 2024.
Bank NXT«ranked third, after the volume of its syndicated loans increased by about 31.4% during the first quarter of this year, reaching 7.60 billion pounds by the end of March 2025, compared to 5.78 billion pounds by the end of 2024.
«QNB» Bank Egypt occupied fourth place, as its portfolio of syndicated loans increased by about 30.8% during the first quarter of this year, recording 45.49 billion pounds by the end of March 2025, compared to 34.78 billion pounds by the end of 2024.
Al Baraka Bank came in fifth place, after its syndicated financing portfolio increased by about 17.7% during the first quarter of this year, reaching 8.68 billion pounds by the end of March 2025, compared to 4.27 billion pounds by the end of 2024.
Housing and Development Bank took sixth place, thanks to an increase in the volume of its joint loans by about 16.3% during the first quarter of this year, reaching 4.97 billion pounds by the end of March 2025, compared to 4.27 billion pounds by the end of 2024.
Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank – Egypt «ADIB» won eighth place, as its portfolio of joint financing jumped by about 5% during the first quarter of this year, recording 1.54 billion pounds by the end of March 2025, compared to 1.46 billion pounds by the end of 2024.
The Arab African International Bank came ninth, after its syndicated loan portfolio jumped by about 3.9% during the first quarter of this year, reaching 65.97 billion pounds by the end of March 2025, compared to 63.49 billion pounds by the end of 2024.
As for tenth place, it went to the Arab Banking Corporation Bank – Egypt«ABC», as its portfolio of syndicated loans jumped by about 2.9% during the first quarter of 2025, recording 2.18 billion pounds by the end of March 2025, compared to 2.12 billion pounds by the end of 2024.
