EGP index increases against a basket of major currencies to 57.221 points on Thursday

The Egyptian pound index increased against the major currencies during Thursday 12, January 2023 trading rebounding its downfall over the past couple of days. The index reached 57.221 points, compared to 56.960 points on yesterday’s trading.

The Egyptian pound index increased against 6 major currencies among a basket of seven currencies that measures the performance of the pound.

It climbed against the Pound Sterling, the Chinese yuan and the euro while it fell against the US dollar and Saudi Riyal, UAE Dirham while it declined against the Japanese Yen

The average pound sterling selling rate in Egypt decreased from EGP 36 to EGP 35.96 at the end of Monday trading, while the average buying rate rose from EGP 35.90 to EGP 35.83.

The average selling price of the euro in Egypt decreased from EGP 31.97 to EGP 31.89, and the average buying price declined to 31.78.

The average selling price of the Japanese yen in Egypt increased from EGP 22.42 to EGP22.67 while the buying price fell from EGP 22.35 to EGP 22.60 pounds.

The average selling price of the Chinese yuan in Egypt decreased from EGP 4.39 to EGP 4.38, while the buying price remained stable at EGP4.37

The average rate price of the US dollar in Egypt decreased from EGP 29.74 to EGP 29.61 for selling and from EGP 29.65 to EGP 29.52 for buying at the end of today's trading.

The average rate of the Saudi riyal in Egypt decreased to EGP 7.88 for selling, while its buying price increased to EGP 7.85
