Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Sunday’s closing session
The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Thursday with increase in the market cap by 0.06% or EGP 236.561 billion compared to EGP 234.416 billion at the end of Thursday’s session.
The market cap of the banking sector reached 24.31% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange.
The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to EGP 272.917 million which represents 15.62% of the total trading volume today after 7.665 million shares were exchanged capturing 1.70% of the total trading volume.
The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Thursday’s trading session with a mixed performance after the EGX30 main index went up by 0.15% to 15,551.47 points.
Both EGX50 EWI and EGX100 EWI surged by 0.89% to 2,759.66 points and by 0.16% to 4,234.81 points, respectively.
Meanwhile, EGX70 EWI levelled down 0.07% to end the session in the red zone at 2,807.08 points.
EGX’s turnover reached EGP 2.59 billion after 580.90 million shares were exchanged, whereas the market cap value stood at EGP 1.02 trillion.
As for trading on securities, the Egyptian traders were net buyers with EGP 38.48 million. The foreign and Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 30.26 million and EGP 8.22 million, respective
