Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Tuesday's closing session

The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Tuesday 9 September 2025 with a decrease in the market cap by 1.27% to record EGP 522.03 bn compared to EGP 528.77 bn at Yesterday's session.

The market cap of the banking sector reached 21.8% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange.

The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to 319.25 Mn which represents 7.3% of the total trading volume today after 5.98 million shares were exchanged capturing 0.47% of the total trading volume.

The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with a decrease, however turnover amounted EGP 258.8 Mn on shares.

The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” fell by 0.62% to record 34.705 points “EGX70” decreased by 0.31% to record 10.950 points, and the broader index “EGX100” fell by 0.35% to record 14.415 points.
