Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Wednesday's closing session

The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Wednesday 1 October 2025 with an increase in the market cap by 0.96% to record EGP 556.37 bn compared to EGP 551.10 bn at Yesterday's session.

The market cap of the banking sector reached 22.21% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange.

The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to 526.41 Mn which represents 8.48% of the total trading volume today after 9.98 million shares were exchanged capturing 0.63% of the total trading volume.

The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with an increase in “EGX30”  and “EGX100” , and a stability in “EGX70”  however turnover amounted EGP 258.8 Mn on shares.

The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” rose  by 0.27% to record 37.000 points “EGX70” remained stable to record 11.088 points, and the broader index “EGX100” rose by 0.06% to record 14.699 points.
