EGP index decreased against a basket of major currencies to 39.914 points at today's trading

The Egyptian Pound Index declined against major currencies by the end of trading today, Wednesday, 19 November 2025, as the index fell to 39.914 points by the end of today’s trading, compared to 40.073 points at the end of Tuesday’s trading.
The decline in the index came as a result of its depreciation against the US dollar, the euro, the British pound, the Chinese yuan, the UAE dirham, and the Saudi riyal, while it appreciated against the Japanese yen by the end of today’s trading.
The average selling price of the US dollar increased from EGP 47.22 to EGP 47.44 by the end of today’s trading, while the average buying price rose from EGP 47.12 to EGP 47.34 at the end of today’s session.
The average selling price of the euro also increased from EGP 54.73 to EGP 54.95 by the end of today’s trading, while the average buying price rose from EGP 54.61 to EGP 54.83 at the end of today’s trading.
The average selling price of the British pound rose from EGP 62.10 to EGP 62.24 by the end of today’s trading, while the average buying price increased from EGP 61.95 to EGP 62.09 by the end of the day.
The average selling price of the Chinese yuan also increased from EGP 6.64 to EGP 6.67 by the end of today’s trading, while the average buying price in Egypt rose from EGP 6.62 to EGP 6.65 by the end of today’s session.
The average selling price of the UAE dirham rose from EGP 12.85 to EGP 12.91 by the end of today’s trading, while the average buying price increased from EGP 12.82 to EGP 12.88 by the end of today’s session.
The average selling price of the Saudi riyal also rose from EGP 12.59 to EGP 12.65 by the end of today’s trading, while the average buying price increased from EGP 12.56 to EGP 12.62 by the end of today’s trading.
Meanwhile, the average selling price of the Japanese yen declined from EGP 30.42 to EGP 30.36 by the end of today’s trading, while the average buying price fell from EGP 30.35 to EGP 30.30 by the end of today’s session.
