EGP index decreased against a basket of major currencies to 39.379 points at today's trading

The Egyptian Pound Index recorded a decline against major currencies at the close of trading on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, falling to 39.379 points, compared with 39.421 points at the close of trading on Monday.
The decline in the Egyptian Pound Index came as a result of its depreciation against the US dollar, the euro, the British pound, the Japanese yen, the Chinese yuan, the UAE dirham, and the Saudi riyal by the end of today’s trading session.
The average selling price of the US dollar rose from EGP 47.76 to EGP 47.78 at the close of trading today, while the average buying price increased from EGP 47.66 to EGP 47.68.
The average selling price of the euro increased from EGP 56.18 to EGP 56.25 by the end of today’s session, while the average buying price rose from EGP 56.05 to EGP 56.12.
The average selling price of the British pound climbed from EGP 64.41 to EGP 64.55 at the close of trading today, and the average buying price increased from EGP 64.25 to EGP 64.40.
The average selling price of the Japanese yen also rose from EGP 30.55 to EGP 30.65 by the end of trading, while the average buying price increased from EGP 30.48 to EGP 30.58.
Meanwhile, the average selling price of the Chinese yuan increased from EGP 6.81 to EGP 6.83 at the close of trading today, and the average buying price in Egypt rose from EGP 6.80 to EGP 6.82.
The average selling price of the UAE dirham rose from EGP 13.00 to EGP 13.01 at the close of trading today, while the average buying price in Egypt increased from EGP 12.97 to EGP 12.98.
Similarly, the average selling price of the Saudi riyal increased from EGP 12.73 to EGP 12.74 by the end of today’s trading session, while the average buying price rose from EGP 12.70 to EGP 12.71.
