EGP index increased against a basket of major currencies to 39.856 points at today's trading

The Egyptian Pound index witnessed a rise against major currencies by the end of Wednesday January 8, 2026, as the index value rose to 39.856 points at the close of today operations compared to 39.797 points at the end of last Tuesday operations

The rise of the Pound index came as a result of its appreciation against the Dollar and the Euro and the Pound Sterling and the Japanese Yen while it remained stable against the Chinese Yuan and the UAE Dirham and the Saudi Riyal at the close of today operations

The average selling price of the Dollar witnessed a decrease from 47.32 Pounds to 47.31 Pounds at the close of today operations and the average purchase price decreased from 47.22 Pounds to 47.21 Pounds at the end of today operations

Also, the average selling price of the Euro witnessed a decrease from 55.42 Pounds to 55.23 Pounds at the close of today operations and the average purchase price decreased from 55.30 Pounds to 55.11 Pounds at the end of today operations

The average selling price of the Pound Sterling decreased from 64.02 Pounds to 63.16 Pounds at the close of today operations and the average purchase price also decreased from 63.87 Pounds to 63.45 Pounds at the close of today operations

The average selling price of the Japanese Yen also decreased from 30.27 Pounds to 30.18 Pounds at the close of today operations and the average purchase price decreased from 30.20 Pounds to 30.11 Pounds at the end of today operations

While the average selling price of the Chinese Yuan stabilized at 6.77 Pounds at the close of today operations and the average purchase price in Egypt also stabilized at 6.76 Pounds at the end of today operations
