EGP index increased against a basket of major currencies to 39.975 points at today's trading

The Egyptian Pound index rose against major currencies at the end of trading on thursday 5 February 2026, where the value of the index rose to 39,975 points at the end of today's trading, compared to 39,943 points at the end of yesterday’s trading on wednesday.
The rise of the Pound index came as a result of its rise against the euro, the Japanese yen, and the pound sterling, while it stability against the UAE dirham, its decline against the Chinese yuan, and the dollar, the Saudi riyal at the end of today's trading.
The average selling price of the euro fell from EGP 55.51 to EGP 55.43 at the end of today's trading, and the average purchase price fell from EGP 55.38 to EGP 55.30 at the end of today's trading.
The average selling price of the Japanese yen also fell from EGP 29.97 to EGP 29.89 at the end of today’s trading, and the average purchase price fell from EGP 29.91 to EGP 29.83 at the end of today’s trading.
The average selling price of the pound sterling fell from EGP 64.44 to EGP 63.75 at the end of today's trading, while the average purchase price fell from EGP 64.28 to EGP 63.59 .
While the average selling price of the UAE dirham stabilized at EGP 12.79 at the end of today’s trading, while the purchase price in Egypt rose from EGP 12.76 to EGP 12.77 by the close of trading.
The average selling price of the US dollar rose from EGP 46.97 to EGP 47 at the end of today's trading, and the average purchase price fell from EGP 46.87 to EGP 46 at the end of the day's trading.
The average selling price of the Saudi riyal rose from EGP 12.52 to EGP 12.53 at the end of today’s trading, and the average purchase price rose from EGP 12.49 to EGP 12.50 at the end of today’s trading.
The average selling price of the Chinese yuan rose from EGP 6.76 to EGP 6.77 at the end of today's trading, and the average purchase price stabilized at EGP 6.75 .
