The «First Bank» list of private sector banks operating in Egypt that strengthened their financial position the most during the first nine months of 2025 revealed that the Commercial International Bank («CIB») topped the list, with an increase of EGP 140.17 bn, as its total assets reached EGP 1.35 tn by the end of September 2025, compared to EGP 1.21 tn at the end of 2024.

Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank – Egypt («ADIB – Egypt») ranked second, with an increase of EGP 64.87 bn, as its total assets reached EGP 323.71 bn by the end of September 2025, compared to EGP 258.84 bn at the end of 2024.

Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank – Egypt secured third place, with an increase of EGP 59.71 bn, as its total assets reached EGP 472.42 bn by the end of September 2025, compared to EGP 412.71 bn at the end of 2024.

The list tracks the increase in the financial position of 21 private banks operating in the Egyptian banking sector for which financial data were available, showing that 19 banks recorded positive growth while two banks saw a notable decline, according to the independent financial statements published by each bank.

The ranking also revealed a strong presence of foreign banking groups operating in Egypt, capturing 7 of the top ten positions, including: «ADIB – Egypt», «FABMISR», «QNB», «Emirates NBD – Egypt», «Abu Dhabi Commercial – Egypt», «ABK – Egypt», and «HSBC».
