EGP index decreased against a basket of major currencies to 35.964 points at today's trading

The Egyptian Pound index decrease against major currencies at the end of trading on thursday 12 March 2026, where the value of the index fell to 35.964 points at the end of today's trading, compared to 36.245 points at the end of yesterday’s trading on wednesday.
The decline of the Pound index came as a result of its decreased against the US dollar, the euro, the pound sterling, the Japanese yen, Saudi riyal, the Chinese yuan, UAE dirham at the end of today's trading.
The average selling price of the US dollar rose from EGP 52.02 to EGP 52.50 at the end of today's trading, and the average purchase price rose from EGP 51.92 to EGP 52.93 by the close of trading.
The average selling price of the euro rose from EGP 60.37 to EGP 60.68 at the end of today's trading, and the average purchase price rose from EGP 60.24 to EGP 60.55 at the end of today’s trading.
The average selling price of the pound sterling rose from EGP 69.90 to EGP 70.32 at the end of today's trading, while the average purchase price rose from EGP 69.75 to EGP 70.17 .
The average selling price of the Japanese yen rose from EGP 32.84 to EGP 33.08 and the average purchase price rose from EGP 32.77 to EGP 33.01 .
The average selling price of the Chinese yuan rose from EGP 7.57 to EGP 7.64 at the end of today's trading, and the average purchase price rose from EGP 7.55 to EGP 7.62 .
The average selling price of the Saudi riyal rose from EGP 13.86 to EGP 13.98 at the end of today’s trading, while the average purchase price rose from EGP 13.83 to EGP 13.96 .
The average selling price of the UAE dirham rose from EGP 14.16 to EGP 14.29 at the end of today’s trading, while the purchase price in Egypt rose from EGP 14.13 to EGP 14.26 .
