EGP index decreased against a basket of major currencies to 34.729 points at today's trading

The Egyptian pound index declined against major currencies by the end of trading on Thursday, April 5, falling to 34.729 points compared to 34.812 points at the close of the previous Thursday.

The decline in the pound index was driven by its depreciation against several key currencies, including the US dollar, euro, Chinese yuan, British pound, Japanese yen, Saudi riyal, and UAE dirham by the end of today’s trading.

The average selling price of the US dollar rose from EGP 54.40 to EGP 54.54, while the average buying price increased from EGP 54.30 to EGP 54.44 by the close of trading.

The euro’s average selling price increased from EGP 62.71 to EGP 62.82, while the average buying price rose from EGP 62.59 to EGP 62.68.

The British pound’s selling price climbed from EGP 71.89 to EGP 71.98, while the average buying price increased from EGP 71.74 to EGP 71.79.

The Chinese yuan’s average selling price rose from EGP 7.89 to EGP 7.92, while the average buying price increased from EGP 7.87 to EGP 7.90.

The Japanese yen’s average selling price increased from EGP 34.09 to EGP 34.18, while the average buying price rose from EGP 34.01 to EGP 34.11.

The UAE dirham’s average selling price rose from EGP 14.82 to EGP 14.85, while the average buying price increased from EGP 14.78 to EGP 14.82.

The Saudi riyal’s average selling price increased from EGP 14.49 to EGP 14.53, while the average buying price rose from EGP 14.46 to EGP 14.49 by the end of trading.
