12 Turkish Banks Among «First Bank» Top 100 Most Profitable Banks in the Middle East and North Africa

Revealed «First Bank» ranking of the Top 100 Most Profitable Banks in the Middle East and North Africa during the first 9 months of 2025 highlighted the strong presence of the Turkish banking sector, with 12 banks included in the list, recording a combined net profit of approximately USD 7.64 bn, representing around 11% of the total net profits of the banks under review.

The ranking is based on banks’ reported net profits denominated in US dollars, providing a unified comparison tool across banking institutions. It also excludes banks lacking officially disclosed data to ensure accuracy and methodological reliability.

In terms of performance, «Ziraat Bankası» ranked 7th with net profits of USD 2.73 bn during the first 9 months of 2025.

«Türkiye İş Bankası» came in 14th place, reporting net profits of USD 1.45 bn over the same period.

«VakıfBank» secured the 20th position with net profits of USD 1.21 bn during the first 9 months of the year.

«Akbank» ranked 25th, achieving net profits of USD 0.94 bn during the period under analysis.

Meanwhile, «Türkiye Halk Bankası» placed 32nd with net profits of USD 0.50 bn.

«Emlak Katılım Bankası» ranked 44th after recording net profits of USD 0.27 bn.

«Anadolubank» came in 60th place with net profits of USD 0.17 bn.

«Vakıf Katılım Bankası» secured the 72nd position with net profits of USD 0.12 bn, followed by «Fibabanka» in 73rd place with USD 0.11 bn during the first 9 months of 2025.

«Ziraat Katılım Bankası» ranked 91st with net profits of USD 0.05 bn.

«Şekerbank» placed 93rd with net profits of USD 0.05 bn.

Finally, «Dünya Katılım» ranked 99th with net profits of USD 0.04 bn during the period under review.

It is worth noting that the ranking includes parent banking groups across the MENA region and excludes their foreign subsidiaries.
