4 Egyptian banks included in «First Bank» list of the fastest-growing major Arab banks in assets during 2025

The «First Bank» list of the fastest-growing major Arab banks in assets during 2025 included 4 Egyptian banks.
Banque Misr recorded the highest asset growth among major Egyptian banks, with a rate of 27.8% in 2025, ranking fifth on the list, as its assets rose to about USD 90.75 bn by year-end, compared to USD 71.01 bn in 2024.
Commercial International Bank – Egypt «CIB» ranked sixth, with a growth rate of 26.6% during the same year, bringing its assets to around USD 30.11 bn by the end of 2025, compared to USD 23.79 bn in 2024.
National Bank of Egypt ranked 15th, with assets growing by 19.3% in 2025 to reach approximately USD 191.03 bn, compared to USD 160.06 bn in 2024.
Arab African International Bank ranked 41st, recording a growth rate of 10.3% during 2025, as its assets increased to USD 20.01 bn by the end of December, compared to USD 18.14 bn in 2024.
It is worth noting that the ranking covers major Arab banks, defined by «First Bank» as banks with total assets exceeding USD 15 bn. The ranking is based on asset growth rates, with figures converted into U.S. dollars to ensure comparability, and excludes banks without sufficient disclosed financial data.
The ranking also includes parent banking groups across the Arab region and does not include their foreign subsidiaries.
