EGP index rose against a basket of major currencies to 35.675 points at today's trading
The Egyptian pound strengthened against major currencies at the close of trading on Sunday, May 10, reaching 35.675 points, compared to 35.582 points at the close of trading last Wednesday.
The pound's rise was driven by its appreciation against the US dollar, the euro, the British pound, the UAE dirham, the Saudi riyal, and the Japanese yen, while remaining stable against the Chinese yuan.
The average selling price of the US dollar fell from EGP 52.75 to EGP 52.61 at the close of trading, while the average buying price decreased from EGP 52.65 to EGP 52.51.
Similarly, the average selling price of the euro declined from EGP 62.17 to EGP 62.02, and the average buying price dropped from EGP 62.04 to EGP 61.88. The average selling price of the British pound fell from 71.91 Egyptian pounds to 71.74 Egyptian pounds at the close of trading today, while the average buying price declined from 71.75 Egyptian pounds to 71.59 Egyptian pounds.
The average selling price of the Japanese yen decreased from 33.84 Egyptian pounds to 33.59 Egyptian pounds at the close of trading today, and the average buying price dropped from 33.77 Egyptian pounds to 33.51 Egyptian pounds.
The average selling price of the UAE dirham fell from 14.36 Egyptian pounds to [missing price] at the close of trading today, and the average buying price decreased from 14.33 Egyptian pounds to [missing price] at the close of trading today.
The average selling price of the Saudi riyal declined from 14.06 Egyptian pounds to 14.02 Egyptian pounds at the close of trading today, and the average buying price dropped from 14.03 Egyptian pounds to [missing price] at the close of trading today.
