«CIB» Maintains Its Lead as the Largest Listed Bank by Customer Loans, While «QNB» Egypt Ranks Second
The «First Bank» ranking of the fastest-growing banks listed on the Egyptian Exchange in terms of financing at the end of June 2026 revealed that «United Bank» topped the list, recording a growth rate of 29.6%, as its loan portfolio reached approximately EGP 49.63 bn at the end of June 2026, compared to EGP 38.28 bn at the end of 2025.
«Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank – Egypt» ranked second, recording a growth rate of 28% during the first half of 2026, as its financing portfolio reached approximately EGP 198.23 bn at the end of June 2026, compared to EGP 154.87 bn at the end of 2025.
«Housing and Development Bank» ranked third, with its loan portfolio rising by approximately 23.9% during the first half of 2026 to EGP 81.44 bn at the end of June 2026, compared to EGP 65.72 bn at the end of 2025.
The ranking, which included all banks listed on the Egyptian Exchange, showed that all of them achieved positive growth rates in their total financing portfolios during the first half of 2026.
The ranking also revealed that Islamic banks secured one spot among the top five, with «ADIB- Egypt» ranking second.
The ranking further showed that «ADIB–Egypt» and «CIB» maintained their positions among the top five between 2025 and June 2026.
Total financing at banks listed on the Egyptian Exchange reached approximately EGP 2.05 tn at the end of June 2026, recording a 15% growth during the first half of the year, reflecting the continued expansion of the financing base of listed banks.
Meanwhile, «CIB» maintained its position as the largest listed bank by financing, with a portfolio of EGP 631.34 bn at the end of June 2026, while «QNB» Egypt ranked second with a portfolio of EGP 518.91 bn at the end of the same period.
It is worth noting that all figures and growth rates mentioned in the above analysis are based on the standalone financial statements disclosed by each bank as of the end of June 2026.
