ADCB Egypt, First Abu Dhabi Bank and HD Bank are the fastest growing banks in terms of total assets
FirstBank list of the fastest growing banks in total assets during the past year revealed that Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank – Egypt topped the list with a growth rate of 78.20%, after it succeeded in increasing its total portfolio to EGP86.17 bn at the end of December 2022, compared to EGP48.36 bn at the end of December 2021.
First Bank list monitored the total financial position "Assets" of 20 banks operating in the Egyptian banking sector for whom financial statements were available for the analysis period, and revealed that all banks achieved positive growth rates in their total asset portfolios during the past year 2022.
First Abu Dhabi Bank took second place, by total asset portfolio of 55% over the past year, to record EGP 206.45 bn at the end of December 2022, compared to EGP 133.19 bn at the end of December 2021.
HD Bank ranked third on the list, with a growth rate of 35.86% over the past year, after moving its total portfolio of assets from EGP 76.28 bn at the end of December 2021, to jump to EGP103.63 bn at the end of December 2022, followed by National Bank of Kuwait - Egypt, with a growth rate of 35.67% during same period.
QNB Al Ahli came in fifth place, with a growth rate of 34.61% over the past year, after its total assets portfolio recorded about EGP476.80 bn at the end of December 2022, compared to EGP354.20 bn at the end of December 2021.
December 2021, followed by Ahli United Bank and Attijariwafa Bank. with growth rates of 33.04% and 32.58%, respectively, during the same period.
As for ninth place, Suez Canal Bank got it, with a growth rate of 30.01% over the past year, after the bank’s total asset portfolio increased to EGP74.67 bn at the end of December 2022, compared to EGP57.43 bn at the end of December 2021, followed by Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank - Egypt in tenth place with a growth rate. 29.14%% during the same period.
It should be noted that all values and growth rates mentioned above are according to separate financial statements announced for each bank at the end of December 2022.
