The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Monday 1 May with decrease in the market cap by 3.68 % or EGP 264.017 billion compared to EGP 274.105 billion at the end yesterday's session.

The market cap of the banking sector reached 25% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange.

The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to EGP 260.663 million which represents 13.46% of the total trading volume today after 6.608 million shares were exchanged capturing 1.40% of the total trading volume.

The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with decrease and turnover amounted EGP 91 million on shares.

The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” fell by 2.02% at 17.691 points, “EGX70” index for medium stocks fell by 1.82% to record 3.066 points, and the broader index “EGX100” decreased by 1.97% to record 4.654 points.
