saib, E Bank, ADCB Egypt, aiBANK, and HD Bank, are fastest growing banks in terms of net interest income
First Bank list of the fastest growing banks in terms of net interest income for the past year, revealed that saib topped with 69.73%, to record EGP3.5 bn in 2022, compared to EGP2.1 bn during 2021.
The list, which included 20 banks operating in the Egyptian commercial sector, revealed that 19 of the analyzed banks achieved growth rates in net interest income, while a bank recorded a decline rate in 2022.
Export Development Bank ranked second with a growth rate of 65.63%, recording a net interest income of EGP 3.05 bn in 2022, compared to EGP 1.8 bn in 2021.
Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank - Egypt ranked third, after its net income increased by a growth rate of 64.68%, to record EGP 2.9 bn in 2022, compared to EGP 1.8 bn in 2021.
Arab Investment Bank came in fourth place, after its net interest income jumped at a growth rate of 60.92%, to record EGP1.8 bn in 2022, compared to EGP 1.1 bn in 2021.
As for fifth place, Housing and Development Bank came after it achieved a big jump in its net interest income at a rate of 50.14%, to record EGP4.9 bn in 2022, compared to EGP3.3 bn in 2021, followed by Ahli United Bank with a growth rate of 46.89% during the same period.
National Bank of Kuwait - Egypt came in seventh place, with a growth rate of 38.23%, recording a net interest income of EGP 3.8 bn during 2022, compared to EGP 2.8 bn during the previous year.
Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank - Egypt ranked eighth, with a growth rate of 37.64%, after its net income increased to record EGP 4.7 bn in 2022, compared to EGP 3.4 bn in 2021, followed by Attijariwafa Bank in ninth place, with a growth rate of 35.08% during the same period.
Qatar National Bank Al Ahli came in tenth place with a growth rate of 31.20%, as its net interest income increased to record EGP19.6 bn in 2022, compared to EGP14.9 bn in 2021.
It should be noted that all values and growth rates mentioned above, are according to seoarate financial statements announced for each bank at the end of December 2022.
