aiBANK, ADCB Egypt, and HD Bank, are the fastest growing banks in total corporate loans
First Bank list of the fastest growing banks in corporate loans during the past year revealed that Arab Investment Bank topped the list with a growth rate of 106.39%, after its total portfolio recorded EGP 15.5 bn at the end of December 2022, compared to EGP7.5 bn at the end of December 2021.
First Bank list monitored corporate loans for 19 banks operating in the Egyptian banking sector for whom financial data were available for the analysis period, and revealed that 18 banks achieved positive growth rates in their corporate loan portfolios by the end of December 2022, while one bank achieved a decline rate in its corporate loans.
Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank - Egypt came in second place with a growth rate of 57.40% over the past year, after its total corporate loan portfolio recorded EGP 23.5bn at the end of December 2022, compared to EGP 14.9bn at the end of December 2021.
Housing and Development Bank ranked third after its total corporate loan portfolio increased by a growth rate of 56.01% over the past year, to record nearly EGP 17 bn at the end of December 2022, compared to EGP 10.9 bn at the end of December 2021.
alBaraka Bank - Egypt came fourth after its total corporate loan portfolio increased by a growth rate of 42.91% over the past year, to record EGP31.1 bn at the end of December 2022, compared to EGP21.7 bn at the end of December 2021.
NBE came in fifth place, after its total corporate loan portfolio increased by a growth rate of 39.08% over the past year, to record EGP 50.4 bn at the end of December 2022, compared to EGP 36.2 bn at the end of December 2021, followed by Attijariwafa Bank with a growth rate of 36.21% during the same period.
NBK - Egypt ranked seventh, with a growth rate of 35.53% over the past year, after its total corporate loan portfolio recorded EGP 44.1 bn at the end of December 2022, compared to EGP32.6 bn at the end of December 2021, followed by CIB, with a growth rate of 35.50% during the same period of the previous year.
Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank - Egypt came ninth, with a growth rate of 30.59%, after its total corporate loan portfolio recorded 45.3 bn at the end of December 2022, compared to EGP34.7 bn at the end of December 2021, followed by Banque du Caire, with a growth rate of 27.05% during the same period.
