EGBANK, HD Bank, and CIB, Fastest Growing Listed Banks in Direct Loans during H1-2023
First Bank
First Bank list revealed the fastest growing listed banks in direct loans during the first Half of the current year. Egyptian Gulf Bank-EGBANK topped the list with a growth rate of 44.04%, as its total portfolio rose to EGP 12.2 bn by the end of July 2023, compared to EGP 8.5 bn by the end of December 2022.
First Bank list included the total direct loans of 10 banks listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange (excluding Faisal Bank), and revealed that 9 banks achieved positive growth rates in their direct loan portfolios, while only one bank witnessed an decline During the First Half 2023.
HD Bank secured the second place on the list with a growth rate of 37.45%, as its direct loan portfolio reached EGP 8.4 bn by the end of June 2023, compared to EGP 6.1 bn by the end of December 2022.
Commercial International Bank - Egypt ranked third with a growth rate of 21.07% during the first 6 months of the current year, as its direct loan portfolio jumped to EGP 94.5 bn by the end of June 2023, compared to EGP 78.03 bn by the end of December 2022.
saib captured the fourth place with a growth rate of 16.02% during the first Half of the current year, as its direct loan portfolio increased from EGP 7.02 bn by the end of December 2022 to reach EGP 8.15 bn by the end of June 2023.
Qatar National Bank - Al Ahli occupied the fifth place, with its direct loan portfolio increasing by a growth rate of 10.03% during the first Half of the current year, reaching EGP 76.9 bn by the end of June 2023, compared to EGP 69.9 bn by the end of December 2022.
It is worth noting that all the mentioned values and growth rates above are based on separate financial statements announced for each bank by the end of June 2023.
