CBE: Core inflation rate declines to 39.7% in Sep-2023

 The Central Bank of Egypt, in a recent statement on its official website, revealed a decrease in the annual core inflation rate, registering 39.7% in September 2023, compared to 40.4% at the end of August 2023.

The statement also mentioned that the basic Consumer Price Index, calculated by the bank, showed a monthly rate of 1.1% in September 2023, compared to 1.6% in the same month of the previous year and 0.3% in August 2023.

The overall Consumer Price Index for urban areas, announced by CAPMAS, today, recorded a monthly rate of 2.0% in September 2023, compared to 1.5% in the same month of the previous year and 1.6% in August 2023. The annual inflation rate stood at 38% in September 2023, compared to 37.4% in August 2023.

 The inflation-related data has been published on the Central Bank of Egypt's website. The monthly inflation analysis will be published on October 15, 2023.
