CBE: Domestic liquidity grows by 17.29%, recording EGP 8.68 tn by October 2023end

The latest data of the Central Bank of Egypt, revealed an increase in local liquidity by a growth rate of 17.29% during 10M-2023, to record EGP 8.682 tn by the end of October 2023, compared to EGP7.40 tn at the end of 2022, with an increase of EGP1.28 tn.
Domestic liquidity consists of cash and money supply, categorized under cash supply; circulating cash outside the banking system and current deposits in the local currency.
The money supply increased to EGP 2.27 tn by the end of October 2023, compared to EGP1.74 tn by the end of December 2022, with a growth rate of 30.26%, and an increase of EGP 526.36 bn.
Currency in circulation outside the banking sector rose to EGP 1.04 tn by the end of October 2023, compared to EGP 831.23 bn by the end of December 2022, with a growth rate of 24.84% and an increase of EGP206.46bn.
