Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Thursday's closing session

The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Thursday 4 January 2024 with Increase in the market cap by 1% to record EGP 413.514 bn compared to EGP 409.553 bn at yesterday's session.

The market cap of the banking sector reached 24.62% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange

The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to EGP 693.966 mn which represents 19.25% of the total trading volume today after 10.562 million shares were exchanged capturing 0.99% of the total trading volume.

The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with increase and turnover amounted EGP 10 mn on shares.

The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” Fell by 0.23% and 25.478 points, “EGX70” index for medium stocks rose by 0.25% to record 5.708 points, and the broader index “EGX100” Increased by 0.1% to record 8.193 points.
