Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Wednesday's closing session

The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Wednesday 28 February 2024 with decrease in the market cap by 1.3% to record EGP 446.381 bn compared to EGP 452.190 bn at yesterday's session.

The market cap of the banking sector reached 23.04% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange

The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to EGP 397.881 bn which represents 5.98% of the total trading volume today after 6.217 million shares were exchanged capturing 0.57% of the total trading volume.

The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with decrease and turnover amounted EGP 10 mn on shares.

The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” Fell by 1.13% and 29.788 points, “EGX70” index for medium stocks decreased by 3.36% to record 7.651 points, and the broader index “EGX100” decreased by 3.04% to record 10.684 points.
