Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Tuesday's closing session

The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Tuesday 12 March 2024 with decrease in the market cap by 3.5% to record EGP 526.760 bn compared to EGP 543.353 bn at yesterday's session.

The market cap of the banking sector reached 25.64% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange

The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to EGP 1.560 bn which represents 27.45% of the total trading volume today after 18.802 million shares were exchanged capturing 2.94% of the total trading volume.

The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with decrease and turnover amounted EGP 10 mn on shares.

The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” Fell by 2.16% and 33.382 points, “EGX70” index for medium stocks decreased by 3.79% to record 7.280 points, and the broader index “EGX100” decreased by 3.32% to record 10.457 points.
