Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Thursday's closing session

The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Thursday 21 March 2024 with Increase in the market cap by 0.9% to record EGP 476.182 bn compared to EGP 471.847 bn at yesterday 's session.

The market cap of the banking sector reached 25.73% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange

The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to EGP 376.139 mn which represents 10.24% of the total trading volume today after 5.344 million shares were exchanged capturing 0.73% of the total trading volume.

The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with decrease EGX30 only and turnover amounted EGP 85.5 mn on shares.

The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” rose by 1.63% and 29.096 points, “EGX70” index for medium stocks decreased by 3.16% to record 6.596 points, and the broader index “EGX100” Fell by 3.12% to record 9.411 points.
