Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Thursday's closing session

The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Thursday 28 March 2024 with decrease in the market cap by 3.4% to record EGP 447.990 bn compared to EGP 463.577 bn at Yesterday's session.

The market cap of the banking sector reached 25.73% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange

The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to EGP 305.907 mn which represents 11.54% of the total trading volume today after 5.550 million shares were exchanged capturing 1.06% of the total trading volume.

The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with decrease and turnover amounted EGP 178.9 mn on shares.

The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” fell by 2.36% and 28.224 points, “EGX70” index for medium stocks decreased by 1.80% to record 6.516 points, and the broader index “EGX100” Fell by 1.96% to record 9.260 points.
