Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Thursday's closing session

The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Thursday 22 February 2024 with increase in the market cap by 0.2% to record EGP 478.033 bn compared to EGP 477.282 bn at yesterday's session.

The market cap of the banking sector reached 23.61% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange

The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to EGP 421.057 mn which represents 7.52% of the total trading volume today after 6.319 million shares were exchanged capturing 0.38% of the total trading volume.

The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with increase and turnover amounted EGP 10 mn on shares.

The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” rose by 0.06% and 29.475 points, “EGX70” index for medium stocks increased by 1.42% to record 7.904 points, and the broader index “EGX100” increased by 0.88 % to record 10.883 points.
