Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Wednesday's closing session

The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Wednesday 17 April 2024 with decrease in the market cap by 0.4% to record EGP 459.876 bn compared to EGP 461.721 bn at Yesterday's session.

The market cap of the banking sector reached 23.84% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange

The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to EGP 216.095 mn which represents 4.65% of the total trading volume today after 3.740 million shares were exchanged capturing 0.33% of the total trading volume.

The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with and turnover amounted EGP 178.9 mn on shares.

The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” rose by 0.98% EGX70 increased by 1.18% to record 6.855 points, and the broader index “EGX100” rose by 1.17% to record 9.781 points.
