Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Monday's closing session

The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Monday 22 April 2024 with increase in the market cap by 1.2% to record EGP 453.126 bn compared to EGP 447.771 bn at yesterday's session.

The market cap of the banking sector reached 24.73% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange

The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to EGP 646.528 mn which represents 21.39% of the total trading volume today after 8.882 million shares were exchanged capturing 1.16% of the total trading volume.

The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with decrease and turnover amounted EGP 178.9 mn on shares.

The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” fell by 1.67%, to record 28.949 points EGX70 decreased by 1.08% to record 6.663 points, and the broader index “EGX100” declined by 1.31% to record 9.480 points.
