Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Monday's closing session

The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Monday 4 March 2024 with increase in the market cap by 3.4% to record EGP 448.719 bn compared to EGP 433.245 bn at yesterday's session.
The market cap of the banking sector reached 22.34% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange
The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to EGP 633.745 bn which represents 9.88% of the total trading volume today after 9.829 million shares were exchanged capturing 1.07% of the total trading volume.
The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with increase and turnover amounted EGP 10 mn on shares.
The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” rose by 5.11% and 30.643 points, “EGX70” index for medium stocks decreased by 2.10% to record 7.460 points, and the broader index “EGX100” increased by 2.18% to record 10.527 points.
