Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Thursday's closing session

The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Thursday 29 February 2024 with decrease in the market cap by 1.2% to record EGP 441.101 bn compared to EGP 446.381 bn at yesterday's session.
The market cap of the banking sector reached 22.83% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange
The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to EGP 438.342 bn which represents 9.10% of the total trading volume today after 7.269 million shares were exchanged capturing 0.79% of the total trading volume.
The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with increase and turnover amounted EGP 10 mn on shares.
The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” rose by 0.30% and 29.195 points, “EGX70” index for medium stocks increased by 0.24% to record 7.336 points, and the broader index “EGX100” increased by 0.22% to record 10.295 points.
