The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Wednesday 22 May 2024 with decrease in the market cap by 0.35% to record EGP 421.641 bn compared to EGP 423.103 bn at yesterday's session.

The market cap of the banking sector reached 24.01% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange

The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to EGP 276.099 bn which represents 6.88% of the total trading volume today after 4.666million shares were exchanged capturing 0.68% of the total trading volume.

The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with increase EGX30 alone and turnover amounted EGP 178.9 mn on shares.

The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” rose by 0.01%, to record 27.442 points EGX70 decreased by 0.35% to record 5.938 points, and the broader index “EGX100” fell by 0.16% to record 8.599 points.
