Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Wednesday's closing session

The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Wednesday 5 June 2024 with decrease in the market cap by 1.29% to record EGP 414.894 bn compared to EGP 420.307bn at yesterday's session.
The market cap of the banking sector reached 24.39% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange
The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to EGP 240.652 mn which represents 6.75% of the total trading volume today after 4.053 million shares were exchanged capturing 0.55% of the total trading volume.
The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with increase and turnover amounted EGP 267.7 mn on shares.
The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” fell by 1.26%, to record 26.973 points EGX70 decreased by 1.87% to record 5.905 points, and the broader index “EGX100” fell by 1.79% to record 8.575points.
