SC Bank, Alex Bank, and Al Baraka Fastest-Growing Private Sector Banks in Net Profits During H1-2025

SC Bank tops the list of the fastest-growing private sector banks in net profits with a growth rate of 70.6%, while AlexBank ranked second with 46.9%.

Al Baraka Bank came in third with a growth rate of 46.7%, followed by EGBANK and ADCB-Egypt in fourth and fifth places with growth rates of 39.4% and 37.9%, respectively, during the first half of 2025.

ADIB-Egypt, NBK-Egypt, and Bank NXT were also among the top 10 fastest-growing private sector banks in net profits, with growth rates of 34.4%, 30.4%, and 24%, respectively.

First Bank’s ranking of the fastest-growing private sector banks operating in the Egyptian banking sector during H1-2025 revealed that Suez Canal Bank topped the list with a growth rate of 70.6%, achieving a net profit of EGP 3.08 billion in H1-2025, compared to EGP 1.81 billion in H1-2024.

The ranking monitored the net profits of 21 private sector banks operating in the Egyptian banking market for which financial data was available during the first half of 2025.
Results showed that 13 banks recorded positive growth rates, while 8 banks witnessed notable declines, according to the independently published financial statements of each bank.

It is worth noting that private sector banks are defined as those in which private ownership exceeds 50%, according to data from Egypt’s Ministry of Public Enterprise Sector.

Returning to the ranking, AlexBank secured second place as its net profits jumped 46.9% to EGP 7.47 billion in H1-2025, compared to EGP 5.08 billion in the same period of 2024.

Al Baraka Bank – Egypt came third, with net profits rising 46.7% to EGP 1.96 billion during the first six months of 2025, up from EGP 1.34 billion in the same period of 2024.

EGBANK ranked fourth, recording 39.4% growth as net profits increased to EGP 1.72 billion in H1-2025, compared to EGP 1.23 billion in H1-2024.

Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank – Egypt (ADCB) followed in fifth place, with profits up 37.9% to EGP 2.95 billion, versus EGP 2.14 billion in H1-2024.

Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank – Egypt (ADIB-Egypt) secured sixth place, as net profits climbed 34.4% to EGP 6.04 billion in H1-2025, compared to EGP 4.49 billion in the same period of 2024.

National Bank of Kuwait – Egypt (NBK-Egypt) ranked seventh, posting a 30.4% increase in net profits to EGP 4.13 billion during H1-2025, compared to EGP 3.17 billion in H1-2024.

Bank NXT came eighth, with net profits up 24% to EGP 1.12 billion, compared to EGP 901.56 million in the same period of 2024.

Commercial International Bank (CIB) ranked ninth, as net profits grew 20.7% to EGP 33.41 billion during H1-2025, versus EGP 27.68 billion in H1-2024.

Finally, Emirates NBD – Egypt came in tenth, with a 16.9% increase in net profits to EGP 3.02 billion during H1-2025, compared to EGP 2.58 billion in H1-2024.
