EGBANK, SC Bank, and KFH-Egypt Lead Private Sector Banks in Retail Loan Growth During H1 2025

EGBANK topped the list of the fastest-growing private sector banks in retail loans during the first half of 2025, with a growth rate of 58%, followed by SC Bank in second place with a 35.8% increase.

KFH-Egypt ranked third with a 31.7% growth rate, while ADIB-Egypt and BANK NXT secured the fourth and fifth positions, recording growth rates of 28.8% and 28%, respectively.

Meanwhile, Emirates NBD-Egypt and saib were also among the top 10 fastest-growing private sector banks in retail loans, achieving growth rates of 25.8% and 22.7%, respectively.

EGBANK topped the list of private sector banks with the fastest retail loan growth during the first half of 2025, recording a 58% increase, as its retail loan portfolio rose to EGP 25.35 billion by the end of June 2025, compared to EGP 16.05 billion at the end of 2024.

The ranking, compiled by First Bank Research Center, covered 21 private sector banks operating in the Egyptian banking market that disclosed their financial statements for the analysis period. All the banks under review achieved positive growth rates in their retail loan portfolios during the first half of 2025, according to their independently published financial statements.

It is worth noting that private sector banks are defined as those in which private ownership exceeds 50% of total capital, according to data from Egypt’s Ministry of Public Business Sector.

Suez Canal Bank «SC Bank» secured the second position, after its retail loan portfolio grew by 35.8% during H1 2025 to reach EGP 7.46 billion by the end of June 2025, compared to EGP 5.49 billion at the end of 2024.

Kuwait Finance House-Egypt «KFH-Egypt» ranked third, with its retail loan portfolio increasing by 31.7% to EGP 6.52 billion at the end of June 2025, up from EGP 4.95 billion at the end of 2024.

Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank-Egypt «ADIB-Egypt» came fourth, recording a 28.8% rise in retail loans to EGP 35.63 billion at the end of June 2025, compared to EGP 27.66 billion at the end of 2024.

BANK NXT claimed the fifth position, with retail loans growing by 28% during H1 2025 to reach EGP 13.21 billion, up from EGP 10.32 billion at the end of 2024.

Emirates NBD-Egypt ranked sixth, achieving a 25.8% increase in retail loans to EGP 21.26 billion by the end of June 2025, compared to EGP 16.90 billion at the end of 2024.

The Arab International Banking Company «saib» came seventh, with retail loans rising by 22.7% to EGP 24.27 billion at the end of June 2025, versus EGP 19.78 billion at the end of 2024.

Al Baraka Bank ranked eighth, growing its retail loan portfolio by 17.8% to EGP 14.75 billion by the end of June 2025, up from EGP 12.52 billion at the end of 2024.

Al Ahki Bank of Kuwait-Egypt «ABK-Egypt» secured the ninth position, with a 16.7% increase in retail loans to EGP 26.72 billion at the end of June 2025, compared to EGP 22.90 billion at the end of 2024.

Finally, First Abu Dhabi Bank-Egypt «FABMISR» ranked tenth, after expanding its retail loan portfolio by 16.4% to EGP 24.21 billion by the end of June 2025, compared to EGP 20.80 billion at the end of 2024.
