EGBANK, SC Bank, and ADIB-Egypt Lead Private Banks in Net Interest Income Growth During H1 2025

EGBANK tops the list of private banks with the highest growth in net interest income, achieving a 54.5% increase, followed by SC Bank in second place with a 52% growth rate.
ADIB–Egypt ranks third with a 35.1% increase, while ADCB and NBK–Egypt secured the fourth and fifth positions, recording growth rates of 32.9% and 30.9%, respectively, during the first half of 2025.
ABK–Egypt, Al Baraka Bank, and Faisal Islamic Bank of Egypt were also among the Top 10 fastest-growing private banks in net interest income, with growth rates of 27.7%, 27.5%, and 27.49%, respectively.
The First Bank ranking of private banks with the fastest growth in net interest income during H1 2025 revealed EGBANK at the top, with its net interest income rising by 54.5% to EGP 3.99 billion, compared to EGP 2.58 billion during the same period in 2024.
The list, which included 21 private-sector banks operating in the Egyptian banking market, showed that 18 banks achieved positive growth in net interest income, while three banks recorded a decline during H1 2025, based on the latest independently published financial statements.
It is worth noting that private-sector banks are those in which private ownership represents more than 50% of total capital, according to data from Egypt’s Ministry of Public Enterprises.
Returning to the ranking, Suez Canal Bank «SC Bank» secured second place with a 52% growth rate, as its net interest income rose to EGP 3.87 billion during H1 2025, compared to EGP 2.54 billion a year earlier.
Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank-Egypt «ADIB–Egypt» ranked third, with a 35.1% increase to EGP 9.36 billion, up from EGP 6.93 billion in H1 2024.
Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank-Egypt «ADCB–Egypt» followed in fourth place, recording a 32.9% increase in net interest income to EGP 4.96 billion, compared to EGP 3.73 billion in the same period last year.
National Bank of Kuwait-Egypt «NBK–Egypt» came fifth, achieving 30.9% growth to reach EGP 6.74 billion in H1 2025, compared to EGP 5.15 billion in H1 2024.
Al Ahli Bank of Kuwait-Egypt «ABK–Egypt» ranked sixth, with net interest income rising by 27.7% to EGP 3.81 billion, compared to EGP 2.99 billion in the same period last year.
Al Baraka Bank and Faisal Islamic Bank of Egypt followed in seventh and eighth places, with growth rates of 27.5% and 27.49%, reaching EGP 3.64 billion and EGP 4.95 billion, respectively.
Bank of Alexandria «Alex Bank» ranked ninth, with a 25% rise in net interest income to EGP 11.1 billion, up from EGP 8.88 billion in H1 2024.
Finally, Commercial International Bank «CIB» came in tenth, posting a 23.4% increase to EGP 51.15 billion, compared to EGP 41.44 billion during the same period last year.
