SC Bank, Emirates NBD Egypt, and EGBANK Lead the Fastest-Growing Banks in Retail Banking During H1 2025

SC Bank topped the list of the fastest-growing banks in retail banking, with an average growth rate of 34.6%, followed by Emirates NBD-Egypt, which ranked second with a growth rate of 31.2%.

EGBANK came in third with a growth rate of 26.6%, while ADIB-Egypt and Kuwait Finance House–Egypt secured the fourth and fifth positions with growth rates of 26.5% and 25.6%, respectively.

Meanwhile, BANK NXT, saib, and ABK-Egypt was among the top 10 fastest-growing banks in the retail segment, achieving growth rates of 24.3%, 23.6%, and 20.9%, respectively.

According to the First Bank ranking of the fastest-growing banks in retail banking in Egypt during the first half of 2025, Suez Canal Bank «SC Bank» claimed the top spot after its retail portfolio grew by an average of 34.6% in H1 2025.

This performance was driven by a 35.8% increase in its personal loan’s portfolio, which reached EGP 7.46 billion by the end of June, and a 33.4% rise in individual deposits to EGP 28.18 billion during the same period.

The list, which included 25 banks operating in the Egyptian banking sector, revealed that all banks achieved positive growth in their total retail portfolios during H1 2025.

The ranking was based on a composite index developed by First Bank to measure the overall growth in each bank’s personal loans and individual deposits portfolios.

Returning to the ranking, Emirates NBD-Egypt came in second, with its retail portfolio growing by an average of 31.2% in the first six months of 2025.

This was supported by a 25.8% increase in its personal loan’s portfolio to EGP 21.26 billion, and a 36.6% rise in individual deposits to EGP 62.97 billion by the end of June.

EGBANK ranked third, recording an average retail growth rate of 26.6%, driven by a 58% surge in its personal loans portfolio to EGP 25.35 billion by the end of June, while its individual deposits declined slightly by 4.8% to EGP 23.44 billion during the same period.

Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank «ADIB-Egypt» secured the fourth position, achieving an average retail growth rate of 26.5% in H1 2025, supported by a 28.8% increase in its personal financing portfolio to EGP 35.63 billion, and a 24.1% growth in individual deposits to EGP 107.71 billion.

Kuwait Finance House–Egypt «KFH-Egypt» came in fifth, posting an average growth rate of 25.6% in total retail banking, driven by a 31.7% increase in personal financing to EGP 6.52 billion, and a 19.5% rise in individual deposits to EGP 30.60 billion.

BANK NXT ranked sixth, with a 24.3% average increase in its retail portfolio, after its personal loans reached EGP 13.21 billion (up 28%) and its individual deposits rose to EGP 25.85 billion (up 20.5%) by the end of June.

saib Bank took the seventh spot, achieving an average growth rate of 23.6% in total retail banking, supported by a 22.7% rise in personal loans to EGP 24.27 billion and a 24.4% increase in individual deposits to EGP 49.71 billion.

Al Ahli Bank of Kuwait–Egypt «ABK Egypt» ranked eighth, recording a 20.9% growth in total retail banking. Its personal loans grew by 16.7% to EGP 26.72 billion, while its individual deposits rose by 25.1% to EGP 42.46 billion.

First Abu Dhabi Bank-Egypt «FABMISR» came in ninth, with an average growth rate of 17.1% in total retail banking, driven by a 16.4% increase in personal loans to EGP 24.21 billion, and a 17.9% rise in individual deposits to EGP 67.49 billion.

Finally, Al Baraka Bank secured the tenth position, with an average growth rate of 16.8% in retail banking during H1 2025.

This performance was supported by a 17.8% increase in its personal financing portfolio to EGP 14.75 billion, and a 15.8% rise in individual deposits to EGP 72.57 billion by the end of June.

It is worth noting that all figures and growth rates mentioned in the analysis are based on independently published financial statements for each bank as of June 2025.
