EGBANK, SC Bank, and KFH-Egypt Lead Private Banks in Personal Loans Growth During H1 2025

EGBANK tops the list of the fastest-growing private sector banks in personal loans with a growth rate of 49.6%, while SC Bank ranks second with a growth rate of 36.7%.

KFH-Egypt secures the third place with a growth rate of 33.3%, while ADIB-Egypt and BANK NXT hold the fourth and fifth positions with growth rates of 30.8% and 25.8%, respectively.

saib, Emirates NBD-Egypt, and AAIB are among the top 10 fastest-growing private sector banks in personal loans, with growth rates of 25.6%, 22.9%, and 21.2%, respectively.

The First Bank ranking of private sector banks with the fastest growth in personal loans during the first half of 2025 revealed that EGBANK topped the list, with its portfolio growing by 49.6% to reach EGP 19.51 billion by the end of June 2025, compared to EGP 13.04 billion at the end of 2024.

The ranking covered 19 private banks operating in the Egyptian banking sector, for which financial data was available during the analysis period, and showed that all banks recorded positive growth rates in their personal loan portfolios in H1 2025, according to the independent financial statements published by each bank.

It is worth noting that private sector banks are those in which private ownership exceeds 50%, as defined by Egypt’s Ministry of Public Enterprise Sector.

Returning to the ranking, Suez Canal Bank «SC Bank» came in second place, supported by a 36.7% increase in its personal loan portfolio during the first six months of the year, which reached EGP 7.27 billion by the end of June 2025, compared to EGP 5.32 billion at the end of 2024.

Kuwait Finance House – Egypt «KFH-Egypt» ranked third, after its personal financing portfolio jumped by 33.3% during the same period, reaching EGP 5.67 billion by the end of June 2025, compared to EGP 4.25 billion at the end of 2024.

Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank «ADIB-Egypt» came fourth, with its personal financing portfolio rising by 30.8% during the first half of 2025, to EGP 33.71 billion by the end of June, compared to EGP 25.77 billion at the end of 2024.

Bank NXT secured the fifth place, after its personal loan portfolio expanded by 25.8%, reaching EGP 10.14 billion by the end of June 2025, compared to EGP 8.06 billion at the end of 2024.

In sixth place, saib Bank recorded a 25.6% increase in personal loans, reaching EGP 21.07 billion by the end of June 2025, compared to EGP 16.77 billion at the end of 2024.

Emirates NBD – Egypt ranked seventh, with its personal loans rising by 22.9% in the first six months of 2025, reaching EGP 16.86 billion by the end of June, compared to EGP 13.71 billion at the end of 2024.

Arab African International Bank «AAIB» came eighth, with its personal loan portfolio growing by 21.2%, to EGP 10.99 billion by the end of June 2025, compared to EGP 9.06 billion at the end of 2024.

First Abu Dhabi Bank-Egypt «FABMISR» ranked ninth, after recording a 19% increase in its personal loan portfolio, which reached EGP 17.91 billion by the end of June 2025, compared to EGP 15.05 billion at the end of 2024.

Finally, Al Baraka Bank came tenth, with its personal financing portfolio growing by 17.8% in H1 2025, to reach EGP 14.35 billion by the end of June, compared to EGP 12.18 billion at the end of 2024.
