ADCB, ABK-Egypt, and FABMISR Lead Private Sector Banks in Syndicated Loan Growth During H1 2025

ADCB tops the list of the fastest-growing private sector banks in syndicated loans, with a growth rate of 62.2%, followed by ABK-Egypt in second place with a 60.7% growth rate.
FABMISR ranked third, recording a growth rate of 39.9%, while BANK NXT and Al Baraka Bank secured the fourth and fifth places with growth rates of 35.2% and 32.2%, respectively.
Meanwhile, QNB-Egypt, ABC, and ADIB-Egypt were also among the top 10 fastest-growing private sector banks in syndicated loans, with growth rates of 28.1%, 9.3%, and 9.2%, respectively.
The First Bank ranking of the fastest-growing private sector banks in syndicated loans during the first half of 2025 revealed that Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank-Egypt «ADCB» topped the list, with its syndicated loan portfolio surging by 62.2%, reaching EGP 10.38 billion by the end of June 2025, compared to EGP 6.40 billion at the end of 2024.
The list, which included 19 private sector banks operating in the Egyptian banking market for which financial data was available, showed that all the analyzed banks recorded positive growth in their syndicated loan portfolios except for six banks, which saw notable declines during H1 2025, based on their independently audited financial statements.
It is worth noting that private sector banks are those in which private ownership exceeds 50%, according to data from Egypt’s Ministry of Public Business Sector.
Returning to the ranking, the Al Ahli Kuwaiti Bank-Egypt «ABK–Egypt» came in second place, with its syndicated loan portfolio expanding by 60.7% during H1 2025, reaching EGP 5.38 billion by the end of June 2025, up from EGP 3.35 billion at the end of 2024.
First Abu Dhabi Bank-Egypt «FABMISR» secured third place, after its syndicated loan portfolio jumped 39.9% during the first six months of the year, hitting EGP 17.74 billion by June 2025, compared to EGP 12.68 billion at the end of 2024.
Bank NXT ranked fourth, with its syndicated loans increasing 35.2% during H1 2025 to EGP 7.82 billion, up from EGP 5.78 billion by the end of 2024.
Al Baraka Bank followed in fifth place, with its syndicated financing portfolio rising by 32.2%, reaching EGP 9.75 billion at the end of June 2025, compared to EGP 7.38 billion at the end of 2024.
Qatar National Bank-Egypt «QNB-Egypt» ranked sixth, after growing its syndicated loan book by 28.1% during the first half of the year to EGP 44.55 billion, compared to EGP 34.78 billion at the end of 2024.
In seventh place, Arab Banking Corporation «ABC-Egypt» saw its syndicated loans grow 9.3% to EGP 2.32 billion by June 2025, versus EGP 2.12 billion a year earlier.
Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank-Egypt «ADIB-Egypt» came in eighth, after its syndicated financing portfolio increased by 9.2% to EGP 1.60 billion at the end of June 2025, compared to EGP 1.46 billion at the end of 2024.
HSBC Egypt ranked ninth, as its syndicated loan book grew by 6.8% during the first half of 2025, reaching EGP 12.85 billion, compared to EGP 12.03 billion at the end of 2024.
Finally, saib Bank rounded out the top ten, with a 3.8% increase in its syndicated loan portfolio, reaching EGP 21.83 billion by June 2025, compared to EGP 21.03 billion at the end of 2024.
